A Message from the President

Sickle Cell Association of Houston measured our success this year by the number of individuals and families we’ve helped, the communities we’ve educated, and the individuals we have inspired; letting our mission guide the way. Over the course of the year, you may have had an opportunity to take part in and experience our many accomplishments as we worked to build a culture of better health.

Our organization gained the support of many volunteers and additional supporters that share in our commitment to ensuring those living with sickle cell disease are in fact, “living without limits”.

We have also remained focused on our strategic objectives and framework which focuses improving the health of those affected by sickle cell disease and working to build a model that can appropriately and sustainably support the sickle cell population.

The programming Sickle Cell Association of Houston has implemented, utilizes an integrated approach to healthcare and services in an effort to holistically care for those affected by this overwhelming disease. This wrap around service approach, is what makes Sickle Cell Association of Houston such a dynamic and trailblazing community based organization designed with the sickle cell population in mind.

Our hope is in our work as we ambitiously advocate on behalf of so many afflicted by this devastating chronic condition which is why it is critical to advancing our goals for 2020. This year was absolutely remarkable and serves as a great launching to the establishment of care for the sickle cell population. We no longer look to the past, but we learn from it and we have high hopes for the future.

Sincerely,
Tonya C Prince
